But did it really happen...
The wild blue yonder
They were both sat on the ladders mounted on top of Marlowe's white
van. Below them firemen were rushing back and forth with ropes and
stretchers, an ambulance arrived with its lights flashing and out
of it came the paramedics ready for action.
Alice dropped him off in town she told him not to drink too much.
Norm had a pint ready for him and was sat outside in the garden
looking at the river.
The conversation began like a game. What did he remember? What
did you remember? Norm said do you remember the van; Martin said
yes and described how they had watched the scenes below. What about
Marlowe said Martin and Norm said who'd have thought it, Marlowe
blubbing like a baby! Norms answer was a relief because he also
remembered watching Marlow crying.
The worst part had been returning and when they came round it was
in intensive care.
They said they couldn't remember what happened but kept to them
selves the strange common dream they'd had and the vivid blue sky.
Norm told Martin he had quit and Marlowe had phoned him to wait,
Marlowe said they had found a faulty sensor! Martin grimaced, stuff
Marlowe he wasn't going back either, they looked up at the blue
skies over the town. Going back might be too tempting
